You don’t do any shipping or direct sales. Usually, if you market hard and consistently, you stand to make a good deal of money online through affiliate programs. That’s the sheer beauty of using online affiliate programs.

I would have to know more details or check out your links to better evaluate. I can tell you this. The key to making it successful is to build traffic. Not just any traffic either. Targeted is vital. I would definitely not give up. Do more research and find solutions. The same goes for your portfolio. It is great to have the portfolio online, but building traffic to it can make all the difference.

You could always buy stuff low and sell it high on ebay. A good way to find cheap items on ebay is using an ebay misspelled auction finder like http://www.yourtypos.com/
You don't need to register , its free and its safe !
Its safe because your only dealing with ebay and can you really make money ? Yep , some guy bought a collectors beer bottle for 16$ (was misspelled) and he sold it for 500 000$ . Thats just one example , you might not make that much but you can definately save alot of money . I found a few mountain bikes that way for dirt cheap.

If you make under 600 a year in these programs, it does not have to be reported as income, and therefore doesn't count against unemployment

Now to your question: The only online programs that really work are those you control with your own website (not company replicated), with products and services you believe in and that are in demand by the majority of population, which in turn you can market worldwide with the use of Internet.
Product and service must have a repeat customers so you do not have to constantly look for a new buyers. I am forwarding you a link with a lot of detailed information on how it actually works, including real case studies and real contacts to people who had actually done it.
